Description

Inspired Gaming Group, a firm that provides support for computerised slot machines has promised to create 190 jobs in the next three years. The group's gaming machines are in pubs, bars, casinos, bingo halls and holiday parks, it also operates jukeboxes, vending machines and betting terminals.

The centre at Parc Menai can correct faults, upload games, and monitor the use of 37,000 machines worldwide.

Welsh Enterprise Minister Andrew Davies said: 'This highlights how Wales is taking the lead in today's global technology race.'

Ted Robinson, from the Inspired Gaming Group said the figure of 190 was the "minimum" number of jobs the company had budgeted for.

He said that initially the company had intended Bangor to be a support centre, but it was now planning to use the site to develop software technology as well. 'We're now, because of the quality of the individuals that we are interviewing, bringing software development jobs here as well' he explained.

The company's expansion will be supported by a Welsh assembly government regional selective assistance grant.
