Description

Repo Vabrikud is the biggest manufacturer of melamine faced chipboard in Baltic and Northern countries and one of the biggest exporters in Estonia. The company produces chipboard and melamine faced chipboard for furniture industry and hardboard for packaging industry using wet method of production. Since August 2005 Repo Vabrikud has been fully owned by its former shareholder Swiss investment company Sorbes AG. The hardboard production makes one fourth of the output and turnover of Repo Vabrikud. Following the increase of oil prices and waste water handling costs in 2004 -2005, the hardboard factory recorded a loss. The closure of hardboard factory scheduled for the end of 2006 will cause 150 job losses.
