Description
On 19 September 2006, the management of Arjo Wiggins Belgium, a manufacturer of self-copying paper, announced a new restructuring plan which will affect 147 employees. 67 manual workers and 80 staff are to be dismissed at the Nivelles site before the plant is relocated to Virginal. The reason given by the management to justify this move is the need for the company to adapt itself to the recent market developments. In this sense, the European market has undergone a 10% annual decrease in the self-copying paper products' demand.
