Description

About 100 staff have been cut from the company which operates rail services in Kent and parts of East Sussex. Govia took over the region's rail network from South Eastern Trains at the beginning of April.

Nigel Jarrett, spokesman, said only administrative positions had been affected and it was possible more cuts would follow.

Mr Jarrett said some of the redundancies had been voluntary. A spokesman for the Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union said it had been consulted over the job losses.
