Electrolux, the manufacturer of home appliances, will cut 150 out of 1,000 jobs at its plant in Mariestad as a result of the decrease in sales of fridges and freezers. This job reduction, announced on 24 August 2006, is the second since last autumn, when the company laid off 150 employees.
Electrolux has also announced the reduction of the annual production of fridges and freezers from 500,000 to 380,000 units.
