European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Sikorsky, the American aeronautics company, plans to produce helicopter components in Mielec (Podkarpacie region). Production of components, including helicopter fuselages, may eventually be expanded to where the Mielec facility builds entire helicopters. Thanks to this investment by Sikorsky, the Podkarpacie region will gain 1,000 new jobs. Sikorsky presently controls some 35% of the global helicopter market; its Black Hawk machines are used on a large scale by the American military.
