Description
The Polish Ministry of Labour and Social Policy is planning to establish (by way of a legislative act) a Polish Agency for Human Resource Development. This new organisation, to be based on the structure of the existing Cooperation Fund, would be charged with utilisation of resources made available by the European Social Fund. The proposed Agency would employ some 400 people. These plans have met with criticism from, among other quarters, the Ministry of Finance, which maintains that such projects contradict the avowed objectives of the new government in the area of cutting unnecessary public sector costs.
