Description

On 1 August 2006 the German truck-manufacturer MAN announced that it was to create 300 jobs in its turbo-engine manufacturing segment in 2006 to meet the demand by corporate customers of the energy, oil and gas sector in Arab countries. Most of the new jobs will be located at the Oberhausen plant.

According to MAN, the steady demand on trucks and buses already led to the creation of 900 new jobs in the first half of the year 2006. The company announced to invest €50 million to expand manufacturing in Germany and Switzerland. In 2005 MAN employed 36,331 people in Germany and 58,203 in the world.
