Description

Kompania Węglowa, a group assembling 17 coal pits in Silesia, plans to let go 2,000 employees working above ground. This decision has been predicated by the new strategy for Poland’s mining industry drawn up by the Ministry of the Economy for the years 2007 through 2013, which provides for restructuring non-mining employment at Kompania Węglowa and for reducing coal extraction costs.
