European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
On 4 July 2006 Banco Sabadell payed 762 million Euro to buy Banco Urquijo. The latter employed 800 people until now. Its main activity is to manage business assets. As a consequence of this operation 1254 jobs will be reduced, 190 of them belonging to Banco Urquijo. All of the 1254 job cuts will be preretirements, from age 53.
