Description

The KFC and Pizza Hut chains will expand by another four units (two KFC restaurants and two Pizza Hut restaurants) to the provinces by the end of the year, announced Carmen Lupuleţ, marketing manager of the two companies that hold the brands. Every new unit will generate a minimum 30 jobs and a maximum 100 new jobs.

So far the Romanian KFC chain consists of nine restaurants in Bucharest and another seven in the provinces (Braşov, Constanţa, Ploieşti, Oradea, Timişoara and Iaşi with two units). The brand has been brought to Romania as franchise by US Food Network.

The turnover of the company in 2005 was estimated at EUR 8.5 million.

“We have to select every city we go to carefully, bearing in mind the population, the purchasing power in the area, and the location itself that needs to be a central area or an area with lots of people. That is why we have opted for malls”, stated Carmen Lunguleţ.
