Description
Brasserie Fisher, the brewer that employs 585 people in two factories (Schiltigheim and Strasbourg) in the east of France has announced that it will cut 160 jobs between September and December 2006. The company, which is partially owned by the Dutch group Heineken, explained that the decision to cut down 160 jobs was due to the fall of 11% of the sales turnover of the market of beer in France. The trade unions dispute this decision. The company also suggested the possibility that some people could be offered employment at the Heineken group site in Paris.
