Description

Barclays, a UK retail bank, is to close three call centres in Bexleyheath in Kent, Clacton in Essex, and Dudley in the West Midlands as a result of a two year restructuring operation. The three call centres currently employ a total of 1,200 employees. Barclays, the UK's third largest bank, said it hoped to avoid forced redundancies at the three call centres. 'With careful management of staff turnover and active steps to redeploy it is expected that the number of employees made redundant will be significantly fewer than this,' it said.
