Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The British storage company Whittan has just announced plans to close its production plant in Hauts-Sarts (Herstal). Citing economic reasons for its decision, management points out that the storage market is becoming increasingly competitive and that growing price instability in the steel sector has put pressure on costs. The production will, perhaps, be shifted towards the others European plants of the group: Telford (UK) and Durango (Spain).
