Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Canadian Alcan Company decided to establish its European subsidiary in Slovakia in Levice industrial zone Geňa. The decision to invest in Slovakia was announced by Alcan PR manager Mr Alexander Christensen already in January 2006 but the contract on lease of land was signed only recently. Aluminium profiles for central and east European construction and machinery industry will be produced in new production plant, which is a Greenfield investment of SKK 1.12 billion. Around 200 new jobs will be created there in the first stage of the investment. According to the representative of local municipality Mr Štefan Miššák, Italian, French, Swedish and German companies announced their serious interest to run business in that industrial zone, too.
