Description

On 14 June, Bosch, a leading manufacturer of automotive and industrial technology, consumer goods and building technology, announced the building of a new semiconductor plant in Reutlingen. The new plant will employ 800 persons. The creation of jobs shall be completed by the end of 2012. Out of the 800 new jobs in Reutlingen, 620 will be offered to the employees of the Bosch plant in Rommelsbach. These 620 jobs were at risk, because Bosch had already decided to close down its production in Rommelsbach after losing its main customer, Volkswagen, another German automobile manufacturer. At the moment, Bosch is employing 110,000 persons in Germany.
