Description

Computer maker Hewlett Packard Co. inaugurated on 6 June 2006 a global service centre in Sofia that will provide support such as help desks to clients in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Specialists employed at the centre will be responsible for IT maintenance as well as for business and administrative processes of the clients of the company. At present 250 IT specialists are employed and the number of Bulgarian specialists employed at the centre is expected to reach 1,000 by 2008. The company already has a Bulgarian office dealing with sales and services. HP picked Bulgaria over 14 rival destinations due to the country's sustainable number of university technical graduates and its economic and financial stability. The contact centre will move into a built-to-suit 10,000 sq m building in October 2006. HP and Business Park Sofia owner Lindner have signed a 10-year lease for the office building.
