Description

Sharp, the Japanese electronics group, wants to commence production of LCD panels (a component in liquid crystal display television scts) in Łysomice close to Toruń, with production to start. The investment is valued at 146 million euro; construction will begin in summer 2006, and the new factory will begin production in December 2006 or in 2007 at the latest.

By the end of the year 2006, Sharp plans to have 500 employees, about 800 employees by 2007, 3500-3700 employees by 2008 and 5000 employees by 2011. Including supplying firms, the new factory create employment for up to 10,000 people by 2011.

Accorging of the information of 2007.08.29 the company started the production in Łysomice factory on 2007.08.28 and currently employs 1300 people.
