Description
The Swedish furniture (manufacturer) giant Ikea has announced that it is to invest EUR 80m in opening a new store at Bayonne, deep in the south-west of France. 250 new jobs will be created in spring 2009. The group aims to attract around 1.5 million people that live in the region and currently have to travel to Ikea stores at Bordeaux, Toulouse or Bilbao. It has been proved that people in the area are more than happy to cross the France-Spain border to go furniture shopping.
