Description

IPS Alpha, consortium of three Japanese firms (Hitachi, Panasonic and Toshiba), is to establish a new manufacturing site in the Czech Republic to produce LCD TV sets. Production of the new plant with investment of 2.6 billion CZK, located in ÂŽatec (industrial zone Triangle), is to be launched at the beginning of 2007 and to create about 2,000 jobs. Besides the joint venture, three Japanese investors consider to build their own manufacturing sites with the LCD TV production. The overall number of people to be employed could thus reach 12,000 within five years. This huge business expansion is seen as a very profitable investment in the region where more than 30,000 people are unemployed.
