Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The group Brandt, a major French manufacturer of electric household appliances, repurchased by the Spanish group Fagor in 2005, may close two production sites of in France (850 jobs), according to trade unions. Before the end of July 2006, the Group should specify its decision on the future of all the French sites. But, in any case, it is certain that 850 jobs will disappear in these two sites before the end of January 2007.
