Alcoa Fujikura, manufacturer of electric cables for the automotive industry, opened its third production capacity in Romania, at the beginning of May, in Beiuş, Bihor County (the others two are in Nădlac, Arad County, and Caransebeş, Caraş – Severin County).
The decision to expand production capacity was generated by the development of the automotive components market; the company estimates a 10% increase of its turnover against last year, when this index stood at EUR 16.9 million.
The new investment, of EUR 0.8 million this year (complementary to the previous investments totalising EUR 3.5 million) will start by generating 76 workplaces, with their number to stand at some 400 by the end of next year, stated Adriana Lenardt, communication and human resources manager of the company.
Alcoa has 129,000 employees in 43 countries.
