European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The automobile multinational DaimlerChrisler will offer 400 voluntary redundancies in the centre of the company in Vitoria, the capital of the Basque Country. 150 voluntary redundancies will be offered before summer 2006 and the other 250 before 2008.
Furthermore, the company will offer early retirement to 80 employees in its centre in Barcelona.
In Barcelona, the company had already recently made a deal with the Trade Unions concerning 16 early retirements and has announced on May 5th that they will offer 30 to 35 early retirements more in July 2006 and 45 to 50 early retirements in 2007.
