Description
450 jobs will be saved in Belfast after the announcement that Capita will take on financial services firm Prudential's call centre in Clarendon Dock, Belfast. Prudential had announced in April that the call centre was to close with the loss of 450 jobs. The staff will also remain on their current terms and conditions. Rosie Harris, chief operating officer at the Prudential, said the announcement was good news for staff.
'What this will mean to staff is that they will be transferred to another large company which has more job opportunities in Northern Ireland than the Pru can offer,' she said.
'They will continue on their existing terms and conditions and they will enjoy the chance to go on to new work. So over all I think it is a very positive message for staff.'
Capita's current operations in Belfast include the provision of support services for the BBC and the Northern Ireland Civil Service.
