Description

Zakłady Elektrotechniki Mototyzacyjnej plant in Ełk, producer of cables for automobiles, will be dismissing 200 persons out of a workforce of 1200. The company is experiencing financial difficulties due to a falling demand for its products. The Ełk facility is one of a number of plants owned by Fabryka Samochodów Osobowych (FSO) of Warsaw, the automobile factory which once turned out the Fiat 125p and the indigenous Polonez; it is now owned by AwtoZAZ, the Ukrainian automotive group.
