The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Following the aquisition of sea transport company CP Ships, the shipping company Hapag-Lloyd announced that between 2000 and 5000 jobs would be reduced at CP Ships worldwide. The 200 jobs of CP Ships in Germany, however, remain and 100 more jobs will be created at the companys headquarter in Hamburg. Hapag-Lloyd currently employs 4000 people and will have 7000 employees in the future (including the employees of CP Ships).
