Description

Almost 160 new technology jobs are being created in Belfast. Indian software development company Polaris Lab is set to target the banking and financial services sector. News of the investment was released by Northern Ireland Secretary Peter Hain who is on a five-day working visit to India. Mr Hain said the firm would establish a near-shore software development centre in the city with £1.5m financial assistance from Invest NI. Bikash Mathur, executive vice-president and business head of Polaris Europe, said the strong skills base was one of the reasons for picking Northern Ireland. The project is expected to generate salaries in Northern Ireland of around £7m over the next two years. Polaris Software Lab is headquartered in Chennai, and has 12 engineering centers in India and offices in Asia, Europe and north America.
