Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The new director of the Slovak public radio station announced a major restructuring of the company. Foreseen changes would concern the organisational structure of the radio as well as the television broadcasting. The new director also announced that the changes he plans will impact the number of employees in the radio department. The current number of staff in this department, which amounts to 900 employees, should be reduced to 720 within the next two to three years.
According to the currently available information, 50 employees were dismissed by 1 August 2006. According to the Slovak Radio management, the next 130 employees should leave the company earlier than expected - till the end of May 2007.
