Description

Electrolux, a major manufacturer of electric household equipment, has opened a dishwasher factory in Żarów by Wrocław (Lower Silesia). The new plant is scheduled to turn out 160,000 units by the end of 2006 and will employ 145 people. The Żarów factory is the second one of Electrolux in Poland; the company's first Polish facility, a washing machine factory in Siewierz, was opened in 1996 (in 2002, it also began producing tumble dryers).

In three year's time, when full production capacity is reached, the Żarów factory will employ 350 people, making 400,000 dishwashers every year. The investment is valued at €22 million.

According to available information on 6 December 2006, the company employs 400 people in Żarów factory. It plans to increase the employment by 200 people in 2007.
