Description

On 28 March 2006, Hewlett-Packard (HP) opened a business process outsourcing centre in Bucharest. The company aims to invest EUR 166 million over the next five years. The centre provides financial, administrative and technical support to HP clients and partners in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The unit became operational already in autumn 2005; it currently has 325 employees and is planning to reach 800 by the end of 2006 and 1,200 by the end of 2007. Rudy Kozak, HP general manager responsible for emerging markets in south-east Europe says Romania was chosen as a location for the centre because of its quality educational system and low labour costs.
