Description

The telecommunications company Elisa has concluded its first personnel negotiations this spring. Smaller personnel negotiations are ongoing about the fate of around 250 jobs in different parts of the telecommunications company.

Personnel negotiations ended last Monday in the private customer and business units. The unit will manage with fewer dismissals than anticipated. In the unit of around 1,400 employees, notice will be given to 23 workers.

Elisa will eliminate overlapping tasks from product development and sales. Most dismissals will be made in the business customer unit. The unit will cut around 200 jobs.

Elisa will also reduce jobs in the Eunet unit acquired in connection with the purchase of the teleoperator Saunalahti. The personnel negotiations concern around twenty jobs.

The popularity of voluntary redundancy packages lowered the number of dismissals at Elisa. Executive Vice President Sami Ylikortes says that some dozens of redundancy packages have been taken.
