Description

ST Dupont, the French company that makes luxury pens and lighters, has announced plans to cut between 130 and 200 jobs before March 2010, representing nearly one quarter of its total workforce (875). The activity fell by 19% over the last nine months. ST Dupont decided to reduce the number of stores and employees in order to reduce its costs, along with cutting down the number of products of luxury. ST Dupont controls approximately 50 of its own shops, in addition to controlling 190 shops and 142 small points of sale. Its products are sold across Europe, the United States, the Middle East, Japan and Asia.
