Description
Hundreds of jobs are to be created when a new £40m department store opens its doors in Oxford, its managers say. John Lewis has confirmed it is to open a full-range department store as part of the planned redevelopment of the city's Westgate shopping centre. Its bosses said the shop, due to open in 2010, will bring up to 600 new jobs. A council spokesman said it would help 'secure the future' of the city centre.
