European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
France Telecom, the French telecommunications company, announced on 15 January 2006 that 16,000 jobs would be suppressed in France by the end of 2008. 22,000 people are to leave the company through natural attrition till 2009. Voluntary relocation are expected (1,000 a year).Early retirement measures, considered as too expensive won't be implemented. No information was given on the exact number of direct dismissals.
