The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The telecommunications group Elisa started personnel negotiations concerning one thousand people on Monday, 27 February 2006. The company says it intends to cut 180 to 210 jobs.
The personnel cuts are directed to the corporate sales unit for which redundancy packages have been offered before. Customer information or call centre activities are excluded from the negotiations. Elisa has cut down its personnel by around 2,000 in the last two years.
