Description

French industrial giant Alstom will cut employment at its operations in Mannheim from 2,000 to 1,300 until the end of 2010. 540 jobs will be eliminated, 220 will be transfered to a new Alstom-company. Originally, Alstom had planned to cut even more jobs, but backed down after protests from trade unions.
