Description

Carlsberg is to close its production of beer in Valby, Copenhagen, which has been the headquaters since 1847. The plan is to relocate the production to the top modern brewery in Fredericia, Jutland. The relocation will be finished at the end of 2008 and by then, 240 employees will have lost their job at the historical premisses. Production of Carlsberg special beers will be maintained in Valby. Only around 10 out of 180 brewery workers will be left. The reason for the relocation and the redundancies is a decreasing sale in Denmark of Carlsberg beer.
