Description
Czech Coal Group, one of the major producers of brown coal in the Czech Republic, announced its restructuring plan. The company intends to dismiss one third of administrative staff in the first part of 2006 in order to lower wage costs, increase productivity and keep competitiveness. A further flow of dismissals would continue in 2007. About 3,000 people would loose their jobs by 2017 when ČSA mine is expected to be closed. Thousands of jobs would be threatened within linking activities.
