Description
The multinational sugar producer, Danisco, with more than 10,000 employees, announced in February 2006 that the factory in Assens will be closed with effect from January 2007. More than 100 employees will be made redundant. According to the management, it is EU's new sugar reform (Nov 2005)that forces Danisco to rationalisations. Two factories in Sweden and Finland will be closed. In all 350 employees will be influenced by the closures.
