Machine building company Palfinger Bulgaria will invest €6.8 million in the construction of a new production facility in the town of Cherven Bryag. The new plant will specialize in the manufacturing of components for cranes and containers, which will be exported to France. The facility is scheduled for completion by the end of 2006. Palfinger Bulgaria posted €20 million sales in 2005, which is regarded as the most successful period in the development of the company. Austrian company Palfinger has invested over €30 million in the expansion of its operations in Bulgaria so far. Palfinger entered the Bulgarian market in 1999 through the acquisition of a production facility of former arm manufacturing company Bets of Cherven Bryag. Palfinger has two factories operating at the moment in Bulgaria, where some 800 people are working.
