European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The international packaging company Amcor Flexibles is to close its Bristol plant with the loss of 175 jobs. AF Colodense in Whitchurch makes wrappers for the confectionery and snack food markets. The company is blaming over-capacity, static demand and falling prices for the closure. The company says it will do all it can to help workers find jobs within Amcor and elsewhere.
Amcor Flexibles has manufacturing operations in 18 countries across Europe and the US. Its customers include the confectionery, snack foods, processed foods, fresh food, beverages, healthcare and tobacco markets.
