Description

The US-owned firm Trivirix International has gone into administration and around 100 jobs at the medical equipment company in west Belfast are under threat. The company has a factory at the Springvale Business Park. Staff were told the news and unions have said they fear there will be job cuts.

Sinn Fein's Michael Ferguson called on the government to intervene and help find a new owner for the factory. 'We need government intervention to help secure a new owner because the workforce are skilled and able to deliver good manufactured equipment for the medical industry. 'In addition this is an area characterised by multiple deprivation with 13% long-term unemployment and there is a responsibility on the government to do all in
