Description

COLT Telecom Group plc, a leading pan-European provider of business communications services, plans to move 200 UK jobs to India in a bid to cut wage costs. This will increase the number of jobs outsourced to India to 800. Colt has so far resisted employee demands for union recognition and representation within the UK and refuses to discuss or negotiate terms and conditions with the Communication Workers Union. The CWU is calling on Colt management to sit down at the negotiating table to examine how job losses can be avoided and productivity raised.
