Description
On November 2005 EU ministers of agriculture reached an agreement on the reform of the European Union sugar regime. Following the agreement, Pfeifer und Langen decided to close up its sugar plant in Góra Śląska and transfer production to the remaining four plants. Some 200 employees will lose their job within the five plants. The German Pfeifer und Langen group has bought a controlling stake in five sugar mills, in 2001, from The Polish State Treasury.
