European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The Austrian mail-order house Quelle, a subsidiary of the German Karstadt Quelle concern, will dismiss between 150 and 180 employees out of about 1,800, amongst them some executive staff, by the beginning of 2007. This was announced by Wolfgang Binder, the CEO of the company headquartered in Linz, upper Austria. The measure is part of an encompassing restructuring programme the firm has been submitted since autumn 2005. According to this programme, all of the existing 10 technics shops throughout the country are planned to be closed down by 2007.
