Description
Caley's one of Berkshire's oldest department stores is to close with the loss of more than 130 jobs, the owners John Lewis have said the store will close in July 2006. John Lewis said it was 'saddened' by the decision, but added that sales had been falling badly in recent years. The closure means that 134 staff will be laid off from the Windsor branch and its service building in nearby Theale.
