Description

The Austrian chain Billa has started building its 19th supermarket in Bulgaria, which will be situated in the town of Pernik. The store will be built in the middle of the town on a 5,672 square metres area. 150 working places are expected to be created.

At the end of 2005 the German group REWE (proprietor of Billa) announced its intention to invest €220 million in the coming 3 to 5 years. The biggest part of the investment - €120 billion - is for new BILLA stores, and five or six of them will be built before the end of 2006. The plans foresee the number of Billa shops in Bulgaria to reach 50 by the end of 2010.
