Description
Arla Foods UK has announced plans to cut 250 jobs at its milk plant in East Sussex by the end of 2006. The company said it was now entering into consultation with employees at the Sheffield Park dairy, near Uckfield. Adrian Thompson from Arla Foods said: 'Our intention is to give full support to affected staff to help them find alternative employment, subject to the consultation process.' The planned closure was said to be a knock-on result of the sale to Dairy Crest in 2005 of the Express Foodservice side of Arla's business.
