Description
Supermarket chain Wm Morrison has told 1,600 staff working at depots in Kent and Bristol that they are to lose their jobs. The Bradford-based group is to close the depots in Aylesford and Bristol following the £3 billion takeover of Safeway. A depot in Warrington has already been closed, while concern about the prospects for the Bristol and Kent depots was first raised in September. The group said it was 'aiming to minimise redundancies as far as possible and will be talking about alternative roles within Morrisons'.
