Description
Post Office Ltd is continuing its campaign of privatisation with the announcement that eight more Crown post offices in Scotland will be taken over by franchisees, CWU assistant secretary Andy Furey said today. The decision means up to 132 jobs are threatened. 'In Dumfries, for example, there is no other Crown post office, so affected staff have no alternative place to work. Mr Furey said customers too would feel the impact of Post Office Ltd's decision, with experienced, skilled and knowledgeable Crown post office employees being replaced by new, inexperienced staff at the franchised outlets.
